According to a social media post from the company, Tesla is extending its robotaxi service to Dallas and Houston.
The tweet merely states that “Robotaxi is now rolling out in Dallas & Houston” and features a 14-second video of Tesla cars operating without front-seat drivers or human monitors.
After opening in Austin last year and beginning to provide trips without safety drivers in January 2026, the firm currently provides robotaxi service in three locations, all of which are in Texas. Tesla said in a February filing that since debut, its Austin robotaxis have been involved in 14 crashes.
In the San Francisco Bay Area, it also provides a more constrained ride service with human drivers.
According to crowdsourced data on the Robotaxi Tracker website, only one vehicle is registered in each of these new markets, suggesting that Tesla may not be operating many vehicles there just yet (compared to 46 active vehicles documented in Austin).
